BPIS Celebrates Its First Graduating Class

Fu Jen Catholic University's Interdisciplinary English-Taught Bachelor's Program (BPIS) celebrated an important milestone as its first graduating class completed their undergraduate journey in 2026.

During the university's commencement ceremony, Emily Lee, a graduate from South Korea, was selected to represent BPIS and deliver a graduation speech, reflecting on her academic achievements and personal growth over the past four years.

Throughout her studies at FJU, Emily consistently received academic excellence scholarships and actively pursued international learning opportunities.

She participated in an exchange program at Queen's University in Canada and served as a liaison officer and conference volunteer at the 2025 APEC Senior Officials' Meeting in South Korea, gaining valuable experience in international affairs and cross-cultural communication.

Reflecting on her journey, Emily shared that when she first arrived in Taiwan, the only Chinese phrase she knew was "Ni Hao."

However, the diverse and welcoming environment at Fu Jen Catholic University encouraged her to step beyond her comfort zone, embrace new challenges, and discover new possibilities.

Among her most cherished university memories was the annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony, which left a lasting impression on her throughout her years at FJU.

Standing on stage and delivering her graduation speech fluently in Chinese, Emily proudly declared:

"I graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University, and I am proud of it."

Following graduation, Emily has been admitted to the Master of Global Affairs program at New York University (NYU), where she will continue pursuing her academic and professional aspirations.

Emily's journey highlights the opportunities for academic development, international exchange, and personal growth within BPIS.

As the program celebrates its first graduating class, BPIS remains committed to fostering interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural understanding, and global perspectives, empowering students to explore new possibilities and pursue their ambitions beyond the classroom.
